Happy Earth Day!
Major shift is happening because we make it so. Centuries of ecospheric research have coalesced to form the grand body of earthly knowledge we now own. Now that we know more about the critical elements of ecosystems (upon which we all depend), we also understand that the force of nature (of which we are included) is still unpredictable. Thus, with confidence, we factor in room for uncertainty by regarding our resources with conservation for we know not (yet) what turn of events will require the need for reserves.  

This weekend, the North Coast Grower’s Association Farmer’s market was teeming with new offerings. Alongside trusty standbys, I found some dehydrated goods from Pierce Family Farm. From them I purchased sund-dried (yes, actually dried in the sun) Tomatoes and Raisins! Check out the Locally Sourced list at the bottom of this email and get a sense of what’s in season and the variety of produce that Humboldt’s unique territory of microclimates supports.

Sweet Potato spread, Curried Quinoa salad with Raisins, Tangerines, Mint, Radishes, Carrots, and Green Onions, topped with Zesty Cilantro Sauce. $7 ea.
