The stand-alone mixer

Tonight, in the middle of giving JD the tour of the kitchen, we came upon the industrial stand-alone mixer.
“And this,” I said, “I haven’t used yet.”
Immediately, he pointed out that I would be able to accomplish dough-making tasks more efficiently.
“Right, however, I am not finished working on the dough with my hands. Going straight to technology, without knowing a meaningful appreciation for the work it does, is [blind consumerism]. Eventually, I will uses this mixer for its convenience but not until I realize my need for it more fully. We are addicted to and abuse convenience, thus the state of the impoverished world. That’s not the way any more.”
Slow food and slow money accelerate sustainability.
